Arsenal made easy work of Sevilla in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday (November 8) with a 2-0 win at the Emirates.

The Gunners never really looked in trouble against the La Liga side and could have taken an early lead through Kai Havertz. The German was left unmarked at the back post from an inswinging corner in just the first minute but he headed wide of the goal.

Ben White was handed an opportunity at goal in the 23rd minute when the ball fell to the right back on the edge of the box. His left-footed effort curled over Sevilla goalkeeper Marko Dmitrovic's goal.

Arsenal took the lead five minutes later with an excellent worked goal which was finished off by Leandro Trossard. Jorginho found Bukayo Saka with a sublime pass and the English winger played through Trossard who slotted home.

Havertz had one of his better games in Gunners colors but failed with two attempts before his side's second arrived. Gabriel Martinelli threaded an astute ball to Saka who turned his defender inside out before firing past Dmitrovic.

Mikel Arteta's men nearly clinched a third in the 66th minute when Oleksandr Zinchenko tried his luck with a clever volley. However, Dmitrovic did well to turn the ball away.

There was cause for concern when Saka was forced off 85th minute after landing on his ankle. It remains to be seen the extent of the injury but it would be a massive blow if serious.

Nevertheless, it was a job well done for Arsenal who made it three wins from four in Group B. They took a giant step towards the knockout stages of the Champions League and fans were impressed.

One fan was happy to see the north Londoners clinch victory:

"3 points in the bag."

Another fan loved the performance put in from the Gunners:

"Professional and straight up ruthless! Absolutely lovely. The boys consistently dropping mature 10/10 performances."

Here's how fans on X (formerly Twitter) reacted to Arteta's side's comfortable win against Sevilla:

Declan Rice spoke of the need for Arsenal to get back to winning ways

Declan Rice was thrilled that the Gunners managed to put their two prior defeats across competitions behind them. Arteta's men were knocked out of the Carabao Cup after a 3-1 defeat to West Ham United and suffered a 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United in the league.

However, they put in an assured performance against Sevilla, ensuring they didn't lose three games on the bounce. Rice touched on this (via transfer expert Fabrizio Romano):

"We are Arsenal, we can’t be losing three games in a row. Artets made that clear — so we kept persisting in the end and came through."

Arsenal controlled proceedings at the Emirates, with 62% of possession. They forced Sevilla to conjure up just one shot all game. It was a confident showing from Arteta's men and just what they needed following their controversial loss to Newcastle.
