"This guy has no limit, for me" - Thierry Henry in awe of 'magnificent' Arsenal target's performance in the UCL

Former Arsenal striker and pundit Thierry Henry was in awe of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) midfielder Warren Zaire-Emery's performance against AC Milan in the Champions League on Wednesday. The 17-year-old put in a strong performance against the Rossoneri, registering two assists as Les Parisiens won 3-0.

Henry, who is also the manager of France's under-21 side, stated that the youngster's potential was sky-high. Speaking after the game on CBS Sports, he said:

"The way Warren Zaire-Emery is playing, it is just normal to run the show [for a] 17-year-old,’ Henry said on punditry duties for CBS Sports. He was the only one who held his own [against Newcastle] at St James’ Park [on October 4]. He has been magnificent at the moment."

He added:

"Sky is the limit. I have never seen a player that young being so mature. This guy has no limit, for me."

Zaire-Emery debuted for PSG in Ligue 1 and the Champions League last season. Fabrice Hawkins, journalist for French outlet RMC Sport, reported in January that Arsenal were interested in signing the youngster. However, PSG were unwilling to let go of the player, who is under contract until 2025. He has made 11 appearances for the French side this season, bagging five assists in all.

Pundit criticizes Arsenal star for 'sloppy' performances

Odegaard has struggled to begin the 2023-24 campaign.

Former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Petit has stated that Gunners midfielder Martin Odegaard has not been at his creative best in recent games. Speaking on talkSPORT radio, the Frenchman stated that the 24-year-old could be suffering from fatigue.

He said:

"Odegaard recently looks sloppy on the pitch with no creativity and he looks tired as well physically. Probably the fact that we're playing top, top games every three days has an impact and the fact there's not a big rotation in the first XI with [Mikel] Arteta that could be a problem as well."

He added:

"I remember when it gets to that stage of the season especially the last few weeks of the season when important players get injured. Odegaard, when he plays well, most of the time Arsenal win the game. The last couple of games he was not the same player on the pitch. That has an impact on Arsenal's competitiveness."

Odegaard has not been at his clinical best for the Gunners this season, registering just four goals and one assist in his 14 appearances for the side. New signing Declan Rice has outperformed the Norwegian.

This comes after he excelled as captain of the side last season, scoring 15 goals and bagging eight assists in the Premier League and leading the north London side to an unlikely title race.
