Mumbai City FC head into the game with leaders FC Goa at home in confident mood after their win against Delhi Dynamos in the last game. FC Goa too come into the game on the back of two consecutive wins and their form will test Mumbai City FC on their own patch.

Mumbai City FC though are set to be boosted in their bid to notch up a second successive win themselves, as Assistant Coach Oscar Bruzon revealed that marquee player Nicolas Anelka could feature against FC Goa.

“Nicolas has recovered well and there is a chance he may feature against FC Goa today. I can’t say for sure, but I can confirm that Nicolas Anelka will be back playing on the pitch ‘very very soon’,” said the Mumbai City FC number two Oscar Bruzon.

Nicolas Anelka had only previously featured as a substitute in the defeat to FC Pune City in Mumbai City FC’s opening game in the ISL and has since been out with a groin strain sustained during that game.

Anelka’s return could solve Mumbai City FC’s striking problems after the club has struggled to find the perfect solution for playing upfront. Neither Subhash Singh nor Frederic Piquionne has been able to put in a consistent performance to ensure a place in Mumbai City FC’s starting eleven.

We must keep the momentum going: Oscar Bruzon

Assistant Coach Oscar Bruzon though stressed the importance of keeping the momentum going against FC Goa, who according to Bruzon, have lost their early season freshness.

“I always knew we have one of the best squads in the ISL and we need to continue with our good work after the performance in the last game. FC Goa have done well so far but I feel they didn’t look very fresh in their last few games. So we must fight hard and try to win the game against FC Goa tomorrow,” said the Mumbai City FC assistant coach.

Assistant Coach Oscar Bruzon once again stressed the fact that his side have nothing to be happy about sitting eighth in the table and must possess the same desire to win as they had against the Delhi Dynamos. “We must not forget the table. We still have just one win in four, so we must show the same fight on the pitch as we showed against the Delhi Dynamos. From today we must strive hard for a better position in the table for us,” Oscar Bruzon concluded.
