Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has committed his future to the club and vowed to win the Premier League after a disappointing season.

The Gunners were top of the table for a long period of time but are now fighting for their top four place with Everton on their tails.

Giroud started the season well but his own form, just like Arsenal’s, fell away. He has managed to score 14 goals in the league, though, to sit top of the club’s scoring charts. Many Arsenal fans and pundits alike believe they can do much better than Giroud but he has vowed to improve and keep fighting to win the title.

“Of course I will be at Arsenal next season. I am happy in London,” said the French striker.

“I have a contract until 2016. Why not extend? I’ll still be a Gunner next year, at least I’d like to be.”

When asked about his relationship with manager Arsene Wenger, Giroud was desperate for his countryman to remain in charge.

He said: “I want Wenger to stay at Arsenal next season. Of course we want him to extend his contract. We need him, his experience, he has to stay.”

Giroud added: “We want to win the Cup, but fourth is our priority. Arsenal have had Champions League for 17 years.

“I do think we can compete for the title next season, and this time all the way to the end.”
