Real Madrid’s 24-year-old right-back Dani Carvajal says if he were in control of Madrid’s transfer budget he would do everything in his power to sign Koke from Atletico Madrid.

Real Madrid will take on arch-rivals, Atletico Madrid after the international break comes to an end next week. Carvajal singled out Koke from the entire Atletico Madrid squad as a footballer he would love to see play alongside him at the Santiago Bernabeu.

"I would sign Koke from Atletico," told Carvajal to Cadena SER. "He is a tremendous player. He does well wherever you play him.”

Given the rivalry between Real Madrid and Barcelona, Carvajal and Koke might be rivals on the pitch, but in reality, both the players share a close friendship off the pitch.

"He is the type of player who can dictate play and keeps on running the entire game. I think he is a very interesting player. Plus he is a good friend of mine as well."

The Spaniard impressed in the right back position under Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane despite the club signing Brazilian player Danilo from FC Porto for €30 million last season. Carvajal also seems to be impressed by a few tough selection choices made by the former France midfielder legend.

"Zidane and Madrid are being fair to all players," added Carvajal.

"I think Zidane has made some brave decisions, like benching James [Rodriguez] and Isco for the good of the team.”

He also talked about the pressure and hard work that is involved in managing a football club like Real Madrid and that Zinedine Zidane has done a great job so far being brave with his decisions but also making sure that the club gets the right results also. Carvajal also said that his French manager might seem like a quiet and cautious man, but he also has an angry side to him.

"He is a cautious and quiet man. But we have also seen him angry," said Carvajal about the Real Madrid manager.

Dani Carvajal is part of the Spain national squad who will be taking on Macedonia in a qualifier for the FIFA World Cup 2018 to be held in Russia. Spain will also play a friendly against England at the Wembley Stadium on the 16th of November. Carvajal is one of the best young right backs in Europe and will be fighting for his place in the Spain national team for the upcoming World Cup against the likes of Atletico Madrid’s Juanfran after Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin pulled out of the U21 squad following an injury.
