Manchester City centre-back informs agent to find him a new club ahead of summer transfer window: Reports

Manchester City centre-back Aymeric Laporte has reportedly asked his agents to find him a new club ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Spain international has struggled for regular playing time this season, starting in just eight league games. Manuel Akanji, John Stones, Ruben Dias, and Nathan Ake have all seemingly overtaken him in Pep Guardiola's pecking order.

Laporte, 28, is still in the prime years of his playing career and would want to make the most of it. According to Football Insider, Manchester City will listen to offers for him. However, they will prefer to sell him to a foreign club rather than a Premier League rival.

Laporte has been an unused substitute in seven of the Cityzens' last nine league games. It seems that he is no longer trusted by Guardiola - the manager who brought him to the Etihad in January 2018 for a fee of £57 million.

The former Athletic Bilbao centre-back will still have two years left on his contract at the Etihad when the season ends. Given the four-time Premier League winner's age, ability, and versatility to double up as a left-back, he shouldn't have trouble finding himself a new club.

Manchester City not seeking revenge in Real Madrid clash, says Guardiola

Manchester City face Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League semifinals for the second season running.

The Cityzens won the first leg last year by a 4-3 margin and scored the first goal in the return leg at the Santiago Bernabeu. However, two late goals from Los Blancos and a spot-kick from Karim Benzema in extra time sunk the Sky Blues.

Pep Guardiola's side would undoubtedly be hurting from that season's defeat. But the Spanish tactician has said that his team will not be seeking revenge from Real Madrid. He said at his pre-match presser, via Madrid Universal:

"We arrived here last season with encouragement to get to the final. We played really good in both games. But what happened happened. We are here one year later. We are not here for revenge. This is completely different to last season."

Regardless of their form in domestic competitions, Real Madrid tend to find a way to impress in Europe. This is the 11th time since the start of the 2010-11 season that they find themselves in a Champions League semi-final.
