Real Madrid are reportedly eyeing Manchester City defender Kyle Walker to strengthen the right-back position.

Walker rose to fame at Tottenham Hotspur, with whom he made 229 appearances across all competitions, scoring four times and registering 20 assists. In 2017, he made a £45 million move to Manchester City, where he has established himself as one of the finest defenders in Europe.

The Englishman had played 249 games for the Cityzens, scoring six goals and picking up 18 assists. He was most recently in action in the UEFA Champions League semifinals, where he helped his team thump Real Madrid 4-0 at the Etihad to progress to the final.

While Dani Carvajal remains the first choice right-back at Real Madrid, the club hope to upgrade the position in the summer transfer window. According to Spanish journalist Tomás González-Martín, they see Walker as a player who will solidify their defence.

The La Liga giants are also said to be interested in re-signing right-back Fran Garcia from Rayo Vallecano to add depth to the squad.

Real Madrid also looking to strengthen left-back, eye Bayern Munich's Alphonso Davies: Reports

Besides the right-back position, Real Madrid are also said to be keen on strengthening their options at left-back. According to reports from Germany, they have expressed interest in Bayern Munich defender Alphonso Davies.

Davies made his name with Vancouver Whitecaps FC, which helped him seal a $13.5 million move to Bayern in 2018. Despite being just 22 years old, he has already made 153 appearances for the club across competitions.

With first-choice left-back Ferland Mendy being injured for most of the 2022-23 season, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has been forced to use midfielder Eduardo Camavinga out of position.

Convincing Bayern to sell Davies, however, won't be an easy task for Real Madrid as per Sky Sports Deutschland's Florian Plettenberg. He reported on Los Blancos' interest in the young defender, also stating that the Bundesliga giants are not keen on parting ways with the player.

Davies' agent, Nick Huoseh, acknowledged that while many clubs remain interested in his client, there have been no concrete talks about a transfer just yet. He said (via TSN Soccer):

"A number of clubs are interested [in Davies] but no direct talks [on a transfer]. Davies has two years left on his contract. Bayern are hoping to extend the contract. Nothing confirmed yet."
