Real Madrid are reportedly ready to offer Eduardo Camavinga a new contract after his impressive performances this season. The Frenchman has done well in the midfield but has also helped out at left-back when Carlo Ancelotti needed him.

As per journalist Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid are set to reward the young Frenchman with a new deal. They want to ensure that he does not think about leaving the club amid interest from Premier League sides.

Reports suggested that Arsenal were keen on luring him away from the Santiago Bernabeu. The Gunners are looking to bolster their midfield this summer and see the Frenchman as the perfect fit.

Romano has added that Real Madrid will look to increase the release clause in Camavinga's contract to €1 billion.

Arsenal target not a fan of playing at left-back for Real Madrid

Ancelotti has confirmed that Camavinga is not a fan of playing at left-back, but had to make the sacrifice as the club needed him on the pitch. He said in a press conference (via GOAL):

"He's a player with extraordinary quality in all aspects: physical, technical and tactically, where he's improving. He can play in any position on the pitch. He could play as a central midfielder and in the number 10 role. He's a special player with great attributes."

Ancelotti added:

"He has surprised us all as a left-back. I'm liking him a lot. Alaba returns on Sunday, we'll see. The team suffers less behind because he works well. He has played very little in this position, but he creates a lot of danger in the opposite field. And he also has defensive work. He doesn't like it, but we do."

Camavinga has also admitted that he finds it hard to play as a left-back as it restricts him. As per OneFootball, he said:

“What changes is the management of depth, it’s a different way of defending, to step back when you’re one against two. You also belong to a flank so you are more restrained. There are other individuals marking supporting you.”

It remains to be seen whether Camavinga will extend his stay at the Santiago Bernabeu or give in to interest from Premier League clubs.
