Rumour: Chelsea in talks with Porto striker Jackson Martinez and Sevilla's Ivan Rakitic

Metro reports, The Blues close in on deal to sign FC Porto forward Jackson Martinez. The striker’s agent reportedly was in London today to negotiate the terms of a deal which would cost Chelsea around £33 million.

The striker was signed by FC Porto last year. He scored 34 goals in 40 matches for the Portuguese side.

But if Chelsea manages to strike a deal with AS Monaco’s star striker Radamel Falcao, they would not move any further for Martinez.

As per Express’ report, Chelsea are the front runners to sign Sevilla’s midfielder Ivan Rakitic. Manchester United and Liverpool are also in the race to sign the Croat.

If reports in Croatia are to be believed, then Chelsea and United have been impressed by Rakitic’s performance this season and hope to bring him to the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Liverpool were linked with the 25-year-old over the summer after reports emerged that Rakitic was unsettled following the departures of Jesus Navas and Alvaro Negredo who both joined Manchester City as well as Geoffrey Kondogbia and Gary Medel, who joined Cardiff.

However, Sevilla earned £58 million last summer and club manager, Jose Maria Del Nido wants to use the money to retain Rakitic.
