England v Germany - International Friendly

Julian Draxler

Schalke youngster Julian Draxler is being targeted by the Premier League strugglers and current title holders Manchester United to end their mid-field vows. Reports suggest United are ready to cough up £25m for the German International to freshen up their midfield.

Tom Cleverly, Anderson and new boy Marouane Fellaini have all struggled for form this season, as David Moyes looks to add more creativity to his midfield and also expects more goals from mdifield, Draxler offers plenty of both. The German could well be tempted by a switch to the Premier League, though a January move is highly unlikely as Schalke have made it to the Champions League last-16.

The 20-year old is an important cog of Jens Keller’s Schalke side while also being a regular in Joachim Low’s German national team. Draxler offers plenty of invention and attacking verve and a move for him would be a wise one to consider for the Manchester outfit.

Draxler has been a target for another Premier League giants Arsenal, who are monitoring the young star closely and that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is in regular contact with the young German.

The trusted, Jan Age Fjortoft a former Norwegian footballer and journalist, who broke the famous Mesut Ozil to Arsenal story has the following to say about Draxler:
