Rumour: PSG to rival Manchester United for Nemanja Matic

Matic is a wanted man in Europe

Paris Saint-Germain boss Laurent Blanc has come out with praise for Benfica midfielder Nemanja Matic.

Matic was a part of the deal that saw Chelsea get David Luiz from Benfica. But since then, Matic has been putting impressive performances in Portugal which has seen him linked with a Premier League return as Manchester United and his former club Chelsea looking to sign him.

But it’s not just the Premier League clubs that are interested in him as Monaco have also been showing interest in his services.Now, Ligue 1‘s other mega rich club PSG have joined the long list of potential suitors for the midfielder.

According to reports, Laurent Blac had inadvertently talked about interest in signing the Benfica star during a recent interview.

“Matic is a good player. He is a young player. Benfica have very good, young players, including those from Balkan countries. As to whether he will be at PSG in the future, I hope to get him but he is already at a big club called Benfica.”,the PSG manager said.

The player has a €40 million release clause which despite his talent is still humongous. However, a realistic value of £20 million has been quoted and that would definitely be a value the clubs would be ready to pay to get Matic.
