West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce feels that England manager Roy Hodgson should think carefully before including Leighton Baines in the Three Lions’s upcoming World Cup qualifying games and not give him a chance just because of his deadly free kicks, The Express reports.

The 28-year-old found the back of the net twice from free-kicks during the 3-2 win over ex-club West Ham United. England manager Roy Hodgson was watching the game from the stands.

But Allardyce said: “You play your best team defensively and let the attacking players attack.

“If Leighton Baines happens to play and there’s a free-kick, then get him up there. But you don’t play him just for free-kicks.”

The left back is a specialist in free kicks and is known to be deadly accurate from that position.
