3 players who can replace Ronaldo at Real Madrid

The
Cristiano Ronaldo has been struggling for form this season.

Cristiano Ronaldo, the star Portuguese was signed by Real Madrid back in 2009 from Manchester United. In his nine years with Real, the Portuguese has won everything at the club and the individual level. Being hailed as the 'best in the world', there are no doubts about his abilities.

The coming summer, Ronaldo will be turning 33 and entering the dwindling stages of his career. The Portuguese has struggled at Real lately with age catching up with him. He appears to be losing his effectiveness day by day. Though finding a replacement for the current Ballon d'Or winner is going to be a mammoth task, we take a look at the players who could replace Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid.

#3 Neymar Jr

PSG smashed the world record to sign Neymar from Barcelona.

The name would certainly raise some eyebrows but Neymar is currently the best footballer in the world behind Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. The Brazilian has an amazing goal scoring record for both club and country. Not to mention his immense brand image which could reap some heavy dividends for Real Madrid after Ronaldo's departure.

Neymar moved to PSG only in 2017 for a world record fee of €222 million and has set the French League on fire since his arrival. The 26-year-old has 26 goals and 16 assists in 25 appearances this season. However, a move for the Brazilian would not come cheap for the Spanish Champions as they may well have to smash the world record fee by almost a double.

#2 Harry Kane

Harry Kane waits for his 100th league goal for Spurs

Very few players can match the intent Ronaldo possesses while facing the defenders and Harry Kane is one of them. The Spurs man has been in sensational form over the last couple of years for his team. He has scored 30 goals in 31 appearances for Tottenham this season.

Already being labelled as one of the best forwards in Europe, Kane could be up for a move this summer. The current Premier League golden boot holder is a nightmare for the defenders with his strength and precision on the ball. However, it would take an exquisite sum of money for Real to lure the 24-year-old away from England.

#1 Kylian Mbappe

The teenager is currently on a season-long loan at PSG

If Real Madrid in any way are looking for a long-term replacement for Ronaldo, Mbappe is the player they should pursue. The Frenchman is currently on a loan with PSG and an added obligation to buy next season as a result of Financial Fair Play restrictions.

The 18-year-old in his first senior year with Monaco showcased what he is capable of. Mbappe's reading of the game and composure on the ball is something noteworthy. He has 15 goals and 13 assists in 29 appearances this season.

Signing Mbappe in the very next season looks difficult. He is certainly one for the future but will come in really expensive. If the Spanish Champions manage to secure his signatures, we could be looking at an extremely talented player who could be taking forward Ronaldo's legacy.
