United have placed an improved offer for Cesc Fabregas: David Moyes

Manchester United are not giving up on Cesc Fabregas easily and have made a second bid for the Barcelona midfielder.

David Moyes admitted at a press conference in Yokohama: “Ed (Woodward) has had a response (from Barcelona). He has spoken to them. There has been a second offer but Ed is dealing with that.”

“When you’re interested in good players you want to give it every opportunity to materialise and I’ll do that. I hope things can continue and move forward.

“At this moment in time I can only tell you that Ed Woodward is working hard trying to make the deals happen. We can only hope that some of them fall into place shortly,” Moyes added.

The initial bid for Fabregas was reportedly rejected by Barcelona.

However, Cesc Fabregas wishes to stay at the Catalan Club and fight for his position rather than change clubs, but things can change now taking Tito Vilanova’s resignation into consideration who was forced to step down at Camp Nou last week for health reasons.

Manchester United are yet to make a big name signing this summer, with Uruguay’s Guillermo Varela being their lone new acquisition.
