Video: Sao Paulo beat Vasco da Gama 2-0 in Brasileiro

Sao Paulo eased their relegation worries with a 2-0 Campeonato Brasileiro victory over Vasco da Gama in Rio de Janeiro.

Two sides short on form and confidence took the field, as Vasco da Gama entertained Sao Paulo.

Vasco came into the game with only one win in their last seven and Sao Paulo were just two places off the bottom of the table.

However, the visitors had the better of the first half and opened the scoring after half an hour.

The Vasco defence failed to pick up Rodrigo Caio and his powerful header beat Diogo Silva.

Vasco brought on Dakson and Reginalson for the start of the second half and Dakson almost made an immediate impact with this header

Then, moments later, Juninho put Reginalson through on goal, but he couldn’t convert the chance.

The visitors weathered the storm and at the other end were handed a second goal by Vasco ‘keeper Diogo Silva.

He flapped at a corner and Antonio Carlos, popped in the loose ball.

A crucial win to ease their relegation worries.
