Fortnite Marvel collaborations have taken over the island, with more characters than any other collab in the game. In fact, the battle royale title now has about 50 skins that belong to the comic book universe, and it's safe to say these skins have burnt a deep hole in Epic Games' pocket.

The rights to some of the most popular Marvel Superheroes must cost a pretty penny. Naturally, in Epic Games' pursuit to create the biggest gaming metaverse, the studio has to come up with a big fund to spend on collabs. However, it seems the relationship between Epic and Marvel is a little different.

The Fortnite Marvel collabs don't seem to cost a single dollar to either company. On the other hand, these tie-ups have made both companies millions of dollars due to PR and advertisements. Clearly, Epic Games and Marvel are in a symbiotic relationship where the two benefit from each other's ability to attract more crowds.

How much has Fortnite paid Marvel for its collabs?

For the uninitiated, Epic Games has nicely integrated Marvel and its characters into its lore. The battle royale game has added around 50 characters from the comic book franchise. Marvel also featured Thor playing the game in Avengers: Endgame, and Epic and Marvel recently collaborated on a comic book mini-series called Zero War.

Ever since Chapter 2 Season 4, a host of Marvel skins have been added to the battle royale game. When an entire Marvel-themed season arrived, it turned many heads. Many players would have wondered how much Fortnite pays Marvel for all these skins and cosmetics. Unfortunately, for those expecting a big number, the answer will be extremely disappointing.

There haven't been any reports claiming to show the exact amount Epic Games paid to Marvel for all the collabs. In fact, neither company has paid the other to be featured in their IPs. It seems the creators of Marvel are big fans of the game. Similarly, Epic Games is also eager to integrate the Marvel Universe into its metaverse. Naturally, this has created a perfect relationship for fans where they get the best of both worlds.

What is the future of Marvel Fortnite collaborations?

Marvel collabs have been the most popular skins in the game so far. Clearly, players will want to continue seeing upcoming characters from the comic book universe in-game. In fact, Hulk is the most recent skin from Marvel to arrive in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1. With a new phase of Marvel movies and shows coming up, players can expect a lot more skins in the game.

It seems like both Marvel and Epic Games are in for the long run together. Whether Fortnite pays Marvel or not is irrelevant to the arrangement between the two companies, and they stand to benefit greatly from their partnership. Hopefully, skins like Falcon, Rocket, Ms. Marvel, and other upcoming Marvel characters will also show up in-game soon.
