The Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 Battle Pass is being hailed as one of the best yet. Although not everyone would agree, it's difficult to dismiss the general consensus. While it can be said that the cosmetics on display are not the best in-game, they aren't the main focus of the Battle Pass.

While most players pay attention to the cosmetics, a few closely eye the functionality of the Battle Pass instead. On that note, in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1, things have reached their highest point. Here are a few reasons as to why the latest Battle Pass is being held in such high regard.

Fans are going gaga over the Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 Battle Pass and with good reason

1) Battle Pass skins have idle animations

What's great about Battle Pass skins is that players can look at them before spending Battle Stars to unlock them. This gives them a good idea as to how the skin will look in-game. They can turn the skin around to see it from different angles and even zoom in and out to have a better look.

Speaking of looks, the skins used to have zero expressions. Aside from their unique individual poses, head turns, and eye movements, they looked extremely static. However, this time around, Epic Games has improved upon this facet and taken things to a new level.

Rather than behaving like mannequins, the skins in the Battle Pass now showcase some facial expressions and vivid movement. This highlights their personality and brings the Battle Pass to life. While it's not something that everyone will take note of, it's a quality-of-life improvement nevertheless.

2) Incredible collaborations

Every season, Epic Games adds a larger-than-life character to the Battle Pass to feature as a skin in-game. This includes characters such as Spider-Man, Darth Vader, Indiana Jones, and even Neymar JR. While these collaborations are not lightweights, not everyone felt strongly attached to them.

However, for Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1, Epic Games pulled out the "big guns" and brought in a demon hunter and a monster slayer. The Doom Guy and Geralt of Rivia have become the most sought-after Battle Pass collaboration skins in-game at the moment.

With Bethesda and CD Projekt Red cross-promoting their characters in Fortnite, the hype surrounding the collaboration has superseded all expectations. Currently, only Doom Slayer can be unlocked in the Battle Pass, and players will have to wait for 53 days to unlock Geralt of Rivia.

That said, it's unclear why Epic Games has kept the skin for the latter part of the season. Taking into account that The Witcher 3 next-gen upgrade releases on December 14, 2022, it feels like a missed out opportunity to create hype for the game.

3) Overhauled UI

While the previous points showcase how good the new Battle Pass is on the surface, this last one underlines the rework of the UI. Epic Games has spent a lot of time reworking the UI to make it more streamlined and less cluttered. When the first images of the Battle Pass were leaked online, the UI was the main focus for many.

Compared to the previous Battle Pass UI from Fortnite Chapter 3, this iteration of the pass is extremely clean and easy to navigate. All sections present in the Battle Pass can be viewed at a glance, and finding tabs is easier than before.

Rather than moving down pages in a long column to see all the cosmetics, players can flip through individual pages to see the cosmetics more clearly. While some users are experiencing minor issues when flipping from one page to the next, it's mostly a bug that will be worked out in the upcoming update v23.10.
