Where to find Ash Williams in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4

After spending over four decades dealing with the occult and monsters in Evil Dead, Ash Williams has now brought his skills to Fortnite. Although The Herald is not really a demon, the islanders could use a helping hand to defeat her. That said, finding him on the island is not straightforward.

Given his history, he enjoys spending time alone protecting his "fruit cellar." Nevertheless, for those who dare to explore, running into him will not be a problem. However, given his popularity, players are unlikely to find him by himself.

Where to find NPC Ash Williams in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4: A step-by-step guide

1) Land west of the Reality Tree

To start the hunt for Ash Williams, players will have to land west of the Reality Tree. Keep the road/clearing as a visual aid to find his house - The Knowby Cabin - which is a direct reference to the Evil Dead series

Unlike other NPCs that are rather easy to find on the island, Ash Williams is located in a rather obscure area. While most would have abandoned the dying and decaying reality biome, for him, that's home.

2) Look for The Knowby Cabin among the trees

Since his location is not marked on the map, those wanting to find it will need to keep their eyes wide open. The easiest way to find him is to go straight down the road after landing. Do not deviate from the path as this is the most direct route.

That said, players need to be mindful of their surroundings. Since the area is covered with giant mushrooms and trees, opponents might be stealthily camping, waiting for an opportunity to strike.

3) Enter The Knowby Cabin and interact with Ash Williams

After finding the house, approach it and enter through the door. Ash Williams can usually be found loitering in the front of the house.

After interacting with him, players will receive a random item. In addition to his charitable nature, he also sells an epic Lever Action Shotgun for 250 gold bars. Since the area is ridden with jumpscares, the item will no doubt come in handy during close-range encounters.

Players will need to visit Ash Williams in Chapter 3 Season 4 to complete two challenges. The first involves purchasing a shotgun from the NPC, and the other requires them to use it in combat. Since both challenges can be completed in one go, it's better to plan things in advance to save time.

Players simply have to purchase the lever action shotgun from Ash Williams and inflict a total of 50 damage on any living (or undead) creature within the radius of The Knowby Cabin. Although shooting Ash Williams is also an option that players can consider, it's best to find jumpscares or wildlife to shoot at.

Given how NPCs tend to be bullet sponges, engaging in a fight using a shotgun may not be the best idea during the early game. With limited healing items and ammo, the NPC will come out on top in most cases. Whichever route players decide to take, upon completing both challenges, they'll earn a total of 30,000 XP.
