A new MSI Claw software update has been released, bringing with it tons of improvements to overall stability and game performance. The update was released on April 19, 2024, and it has optimizations specific to Helldivers 2, Diablo IV, and more, which were known to be rather problematic on the Intel Arc-based Meteor Lake handheld gaming device.

A breakdown of the MSI Claw software update can be found below.

MSI Claw software update for April 19, 2024

As detailed in the official MSI support page for the Claw, a series of updates have been released for the handheld, targeting both the BIOS and GPU driver:

  • BIOS: The BIOS version 106/EC105 can be downloaded from the official product support page, bringing with it a series of unlisted optimizations. Interestingly, BIOS updates now no longer require USB flash drives and/or hubs to install.
  • Intel Arc Graphics Driver: A freshly released, updated version of the integrated Intel Arc graphics driver (31.0.101.5382) can be installed via the MSI Center M app. This driver also brings with it several optimizations for recent AAA titles.

The MSI Claw software update also boasts a series of impressive performance gains across the following titles:

  • A 21.9% boost to Dead Space (2023) performance.
  • A 43.5% boost to F1 23 performance.
  • A 10.3% boost to Helldivers 2 performance.
  • A 22.6% boost to Diablo IV performance.
  • A 27.6% boost to Hogwarts Legacy performance.
  • An 18.4% boost to Forza Horizon performance.

Naturally, these results will vary from device to device, depending on the TDP and in-game configuration settings used. This performance boost is greatly appreciated and should make the MSI Claw a lot more competitive when compared to AMD-powered rivals such as the Steam Deck and ASUS ROG Ally.
