Mortal Kombat X producer, Shaun Himmerick, has squashed recent rumours stating that the game will not require a PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Gold membership to run. Oddly enough, it was Himmerick himself who stated on Twitter that "PS Plus is not needed for any feature of MKX." He later confirmed that Xbox Live Gold was not required either.
Himmerick then deleted his tweets on the issue, which turned out to be a simple misunderstanding. In his recent tweet, Himmerick explained that his statement was meant for a previous question by a fan who wanted to know if the there would be any exclusive content for PSN Plus members.
So in conclusion, players will still need a PlayStation Plus or Xbox Gold membership to try out the game’s online features. Moral Kombat X is slated to release on April 14th for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
