Third edition of Hyderabad Corporate Olympics to commence on September 14

After the grand success in the first two editions, the third edition of the Hyderabad Corporate Olympics is back; this time with more sports disciplines. The current edition will commence on September 14 and will comprise of 18 disciplines.

The second edition had seen 77 corporate companies of Hyderabad participate and this edition will see over 90.

Athletics, badminton, basketball, pool, volleyball, throwball, tennis, cricket, football, chess, carom, TT, swimming are just some of disciplines that would be conducted this year.

The sports activities would be conducted during the weekends without disturbing the work schedule of the corporate executives.

Gold, silver and bronze medals would be given to the winners in addition to the gifts/vouchers. The team with the maximum gold medals at the end of the event will be awarded the prestigious Corporate Champions Trophy, which is currently held by Deloitte.

“The successful conduct of Hyderabad Corporate Olympics in 2011 and 2012 has prompted us to add more categories in Athletics and Swimming. In addition, we are introducing Soccer Shoot-Out for Women this year to encourage corporate women to take up soccer.

“In our 1st edition, we had participation from 53 companies which bulged to 77 in the 2nd edition. We are expecting over 90 corporate companies to take part in this edition. Any corporate company irrespective of the size of the company can enrol in this event.

“We have been encouraging corporate houses to send their women to participate in these activities and we have exclusive women events as well” said Sarathy, Convener of the Hyderabad Corporate Olympics.
