The 2023 LPGA Maybank Championship is all set to be played from October 26 to 29 at the Kuala Lumpur Country Club in Malaysia. The 78-player field led by World No. 2 and 2023 Women's PGA Championship winner Ruoning Yin will fight for an elevated $3 million prize purse this weekend.

The tournament will have a total of 14 other major champions. The list of top golfers includes Nelly Korda, Allisen Corpuz, Brooks Henderson, Ashleigh Buhai, Hannah Green, Jenniffer Kupcho, and Danielle Kang among others.

Who are the top five players not participating 2023 LPGA Maybank Championship

Without further ado, let's find out some top players missing from the next LPGA Tour event:

#5 Alison Lee

The 28-year-old American golfer missed out on an opportunity to record her first victory on the American women's golf Tour last week at the 2023 BMW Ladies Championship. She lost to Minjee Lee in the extra hole playoff match after they both tied at the top spot.

Alison Lee, who is ranked 41 on the Rolex Women's Golf Rankings, will miss out on the 2023 LPGA Maybank Championship this week in Malaysia.

#4 Charley Hull

The World No. 8 English golfer Charley Hull will be missing out on the next tournament at the Kuala Lumpur Country Club this week. The reason behind her non-participation in the event is her commitment to fellow Ladies European Tour.

She will be seen playing at the Aramco Team Series final at Riyadh Golf Club between October 27 to 29.

Charley Hull had a sensational performance on the LPGA Tour this season. Despite not winning a single tournament, she has four runner-up finishes.

#3 Kim Hyo-joo

The winner of the 2023 Volunteers of America Classic, Kim Hyo-Joo, is set to miss the 2023 LPGA Maybank Championship. Her performance this season had been phenomenal on the leading American women's golf tour.

However, missing the tournament will not be a big issue for the current seventh-ranked golfer in the Rolex World Golf rankings. The 27-year-old is currently ranked fourth in the race to the CME Globe.

#2 Minjee Lee

The 10-time title winner will also be missing the 2023 LPGA Maybank Championship. Just like Charley Hull, she will also travel to Saudi Arabia for the Aramco Team Series final at Riyadh Golf Club.

Just last week, Minjee Lee recorded her second victory of the season at the 2023 BMW Ladies Championship.

#1 Lilia Vu

The current World No. 1 is probably the biggest name to miss out on the next LPGA Tour event in Malaysia. The reason behind her name missing from the 78-player field is similar to Charley Hull and Minjee Lee.

Lilia Vu will be seen playing in the second Aramco Team Series event at the Riyadh Golf Club. With her exceptional form, she would be one of the top stars to be missed in Malaysia this week in the 2023 LPGA Maybank Championship.
