Jordan Spieth was fortunate enough to make the cut at the 2023 PGA Championship by finishing at the bottom line. He sank three birdies and as many bogeys along with a double bogey to finish with a score of 72. Fortunately, it was enough for him to enter the third round.

However, his performance remained disappointing at the start of the third round on Saturday, May 20. Jordan Spieth started the round with a bogey on the first hole and then a birdie. However, he again carded a bogey and was very irritated with his game and it could be heard on the mic.

While making the shot, Spieth said:

"Damn it! Get one good f*** shot!"

The third round of the PGA Championship started at Oak Hills with the morning rounds. Seventy-six golfers made the cut in the second round on Friday, May 19, and are competing to have their best finish in the tournament.

It is pertinent to note that Jordan Spieth has been struggling with a wrist injury that impacted his performance at the 2023 PGA Championship.

Jordan Spieth talks about his injury

Jordan Spieth injured his wrist ahead of the start of the 2023 PGA Championship. But the golfer underwent numerous therapies to be able to compete in the second major of the year.

During the practice round on Wednesday, May 17, he talked about his injuries in an interview reported by Golf Channel. Spieth revealed that he was getting better and was excited to compete at the 2023 PGA Championship.

He said:

"I feel good. I wouldn't play if I didn't think I was in good enough shape to be able to play. If I felt like I was limited in a way that would affect my chances then there’d be no reason for me to feel like playing because then I could further damage it and that’s not worth it.

He went on talk about his progress and said:

"But since last Wednesday afternoon I feel like I can get into every position with the speed that I want and produce the scores that I want. I’m just a little rusty on the reps."

Spieth even explained about the major bunkers at the Oak Hills and said:

"It’s more like any [stroke] that I have to flick over, like a high bunker shot or a high flop shot, and you wouldn’t really have those as often as any other shot. I just don’t have the reps I’d like to have going into a major, but I’m happy I’m able to play because I certainly didn’t think so a week ago.”

Jordan Spieth started the tournament with a double bogey on Thursday, May 18, and then carded a bogey on the third hole. He made two birdies and three bogeys in the opening round to wrap up with a score of 73.

In the second round, he sank three birdies and three bogeys and again a double bogey to wrap up at a score of 72.

After the second round of the PGA Championship, Scottie Scheffler was in the lead along with Corey Conners and Viktor Hovland.
