When will Carl Yuan, Austin Eckroat and Byeong Hun An tee off on Saturday at the Sony Open in Hawaii? Leaders’ Day 3 tee time explored

Day 2 of the Sony Open in Hawaii ended with a three-way tie for the lead. Carl Yuan carded a 5-under 65 on Friday to rise to the top of the leaderboard. He shared the top position with Austin Eckroat, who shot a 66, and Byeong Hun An, who carded a 64. All three golfers on top of the event leaderboard will return to the greens on Saturday for round 3.

Yuan will take the late tee-off on Saturday at the Waialae Country Club in Honolulu. The Chinese golfer will hit the first tee at 5:20 pm ET. He will be joined by co-leaders Eckroat and Hun An. The trio will follow the pairing of Ben Griffin, Stewart Cink, and Cam Davis, who will take the tee at 5:10 pm.

For the unversed, Yuan, who posted 9-under 131, wasn’t supposed to play at the Sony Open in Hawaii. Having finished No. 126 in the FedEx Cup standings last season, the 26-year-old was out of the competition field. Yuan was ineligible for a full status on the PGA Tour for 2024.

However, his status changed when the reigning Masters champion Jon Rahm defected to LIV golf. The Spaniard’s defection took Yuan up a spot to retain his Tour card. Speaking at the event in Hawaii, the Chinese star said that he is eyeing a strong showing on the PGA Tour.
