Round 2 of the 2024 PGA Championship concluded in the early hours of Saturday, May 18. A total of 78 players from the 156-player field made the 36-hole cut. The golfers will head into the final two rounds of the 106th edition of the major at Valhalla.

Only golfers who shot 1-under-par 141 or finished 11 off the leader made the 36-hole cut. Notably, this is the highest-ever cut in PGA Championship history. Xander Schauffele maintained his lead on Day 2, while Collin Morikawa and Sahith Theegala followed.

Scottie Scheffler made the cut despite having an eventful Friday, which saw him get detained by the police for a while. He shared T4 with Thomas Detry, Mark Hubbard and LIV Golf’s Bryson DeChambeau.

Dean Burmester, Viktor Hovland, Austin Eckroat and Tony Finau shared T8, while defending champion Brooks Koepka settled for T12 alongside five others.

Golfers who narrowly sneaked through to the third-round at the 2024 PGA Championship included Dustin Johnson. The LIV Golfer made a birdie at 18 to make the cut in the last position. He shared T68 with Joaquin Niemann, Rickie Fowler, Tommy Fleetwood, Nicolai Hojgaard and LIV Golf’s 2023 individual champion Talor Gooch, among others.

It's pertinent to note that 2023 Masters champion Jon Rahm, 2022 U.S. Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick, 2021 PGA Championship winner Phil Mickelson, 2013 PGA champ Jason Dufner and 15-time Major winner Tiger Woods were among notable names who missed the cut on Saturday.
