India’s Shiv Kapur put in yet another fine display of golf on the European PGA Tour and moved to within 3 shots of the leaders at the Ballantine’s Championship in Korea. Lying in 11th spot overnight, Shiv shot 3 birdies on the front nine and one more on the 13th before heavy downpours and the threat of lightning forced the players off the Blackstone GC Course.

Shiv’s card of 3 under over the first 13 holes leaves him tied for 4th at the prestigious Championship, one shot ahead of World Number One, Lee Westwood. Leaders Miguel Angel Jimenez and Brett Rumford were tied at 10 under par before the bad weather suspended play in the Republic of South Korea.

The third round was delayed two hours at the outset by the first set of storms that hit Seoul. The next set blew in later in the day at Blackstone Golf & Resort and play was halted at 3:40pm local time. The third round is slated to resume tomorrow morning at 8am local time, with the final round scheduled to then begin at 9:20am.

Shiv was confident of carrying his form into the final day of the event despite the stop-start nature of the day’s play. “I am definitely in good shape going into the final day only 3 shots off the leaders and was enjoying myself out on the course even in the difficult conditions. The rain gods have kept us all guessing and busy but hopefully it all clears up and we’re in for a good finish to what has been a very enjoyable week of golf thus far!”, said a very content Kapur.

Kapur and Gaganjeet Bhullar were the only two Indians to make the cut with the latter falling away to tied 48th at one over par going into the final day.
