Minecraft has a lot of different mobs. There are nearly 100 in total, ranging from small silverfish to the huge ender dragon guarding the game's ending. However, there is a selection of mobs only seen in the April Fool's updates that Mojang puts out each year. There have been a wide variety of different joke mobs added over the different joke updates, begging the question of which are best.

1) The Pink Wither

The Pink Wither is a strange pink variant of Minecraft's deadliest mob. It's unique among the game's many April Fool's mobs due to its appearance in two different joke updates. It appeared in Java Edition 2.0 as well as the Love and Hugs update. The Pink Wither cannot fly and grows plants in a 15x4x15 block radius when launching a pink wither skull.

2) The Mega Spud

The Mega Spud is a boss mob found within the Poisonous Potato Update. This mob will launch fireballs at players and has a total of 10 different phases to fight through. The boss will spawn new Minecraft mobs in each phase, ranging from armadillos to piglin brutes. If defeated, the boss will drop a Potatiesh, Greatstaff of the Peasant, which allows travel to the potato dimension at will.

3) Plaguewhale Slabs

Plaguewhale Slabs are a joke variant of elder guardians found within the Poisonous Potato Minecraft April Fool's update. These mobs are the same length and width as elder guardians, but only half the height, to represent them being slabs. They are also purple in color with green spikes. They drop dents, which can be combined with sticks to make tridents.

4) Toxifin Slabs

The Toxifin Slab is a modified version of Minecraft's farmable guardian mob with an orange body and green spikes. They are also only half the height of a regular guardian since they are slabs. These interesting mobs drop toxic resin, as well as toxic beams, needed to make lashing potatoes.

Redstone Bugs are a joke mob found in Java Edition 2.0. They are identical to silverfish in behavior and can spawn in two ways. Horse and Pony share a spot due to essentially being the same joke mob. They are the adult and baby forms of Horse mobs, added in Java Edition 2.0 before the Minecraft pet horse was officially added.
