Conor McGregor has been inactive from mixed martial arts for over a year after breaking his leg at UFC 264. While the former double champ has been preparing for his return, he took some time to send No.15-ranked women's flyweight Molly McCann a motivational message.

Responding to a direct message from McCann on Instagram, in which she asked for advice, the No.13-ranked lightweight stated:

"You are the UFC women's champion on her way. You're going to sleep Valentina [Shevchenko]... Enjoy your newfound fame, keep the team tight and know the limits with the time you give. Just consider it a new job somewhat...train for real as if it's Cage Warriors still because that's what it is and that's what we are, Cage Warriors."

Molly McCann's popularity has rapidly risen in light of her recent performances. She has been victorious in her last three fights, picking up one Fight of the Night and two Performance of the Night awards. She is set to face No.12-ranked women's flyweight Erin Blanchfield at UFC 281.

While McCann will likely need to pick up a few more wins before facing women's flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko, the UFC's biggest star believes that McCann has what it takes.

Jake Paul asks Conor McGregor to join United Fighters Association

Leading up to his bout against Anderson Silva, Jake Paul announced his desire to create a United Fighters Association to fight for better compensation and healthcare for MMA fighters. Paul recently called for Conor McGregor to join the association as well.

Speaking to TheMacLife, Paul stated:

“Conor, I have a message for you. Join me and Anderson [Silva] in helping these fighters. We need all the help we can get. You’ve been pretty selfish your whole career. What have you done for a lot of fighters? This would be a powerful statement for you to join."

Paul added:

"So stop it, stop running, stop hiding, stop being selfish. We need all the help we can get in making this union. Conor McGregor that’s the message, join me and Anderson Silva. It needs to be done.”

Paul has previously called McGregor out on several occasions, angling for a boxing match against the biggest star in mixed martial arts. It is unclear what will materialize from Paul's planned United Fighters Association, although he has reiterated his intent to help fighters get better pay and healthcare.
