Ali Abdelaziz is not a big fan of Conor McGregor, and the pair have always bad-mouthed each other. At UFC 229 in 2018, when 'Notorious' was set to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov, he explained why he called Abdelaziz a "terrorist" during the press conference:

"You should never take information from an informant. You should keep distance from the informant at all times and that's putting it for the media. That's the friendly way of putting it. His [Nurmagomedov's] manager is a f***ing snitch terrorist rat and that's it. I could go into heavy detail, and I will... He was pulled off a flight going from Cairo, Egypt to New York City on September 11, 2001."

McGregor went on to explain how Ali Abdelaziz was caught with five passports and told on the people he was working with to get his freedom. McGregor also stated how he was surprised Abdelaziz was granted entry into the country when even his family had visa issues while trying to enter the United States.
