ONE women’s atomweight world champion, Angela Lee, has recently opened up about her mental struggles. She published a detailed story on The Player’s Tribune about how she has been dealing with the mental battle and revealed that she even tried to take her own life in a car incident in 2017.

Along with this revelation, the ‘Unstoppable also shed light on the passing of her younger sister Victoria Lee and said that suicide caused the shocking death of the young MMA phenom. Because of this tragic incident, Angela was inspired to start a non-profit organization called Fightstory that seeks to help people who are experiencing mental health problems and depression.

In a recent Reddit AMA thread, the 27-year-old was asked about her tattoos by a fan who was curious about her tattoos. The question read:

“Out of your tattoos, Which did you get first, which is your favorite, and do you regret any?”

The Evolve MMA and United MMA representative quickly responded with:

“My first tattoo: My family name in Chinese. My favorite tattoo: The butterfly tattoo I got for my sister NO REGRETS!”

Before her devastating passing, Victoria Lee was highly touted to become the next ONE atomweight world champion and continue the reign of her sister Angela. At the time of her passing, Victoria had a perfect record of three wins and three finishes in all her fights under the world’s largest martial arts organization.
