Social media sensation Hasbulla Magomedov recently confirmed that he's signed with the UFC.
In an Instagram post, he addressed the long-standing rumors as true and expressed gratitude to all those involved in his newest venture. No details of his role or what he will do as part of the UFC have been revealed as of now.
"The rumors are true. I have officially signed a deal to fight in the UFC! Details will be revealed by the end of the year."
The Russian is closely associated with Khabib Nurmagomedov and the rest of his team. Well known among the mixed martial arts fraternity, his signing was met with excitement by many UFC fans.
Former UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub weighed in on the signing during his podcast. He described the move as a marketing masterstroke and also joked about purchasing Magomedov's merchandise.
"I was gonna say I would never buy a fight kit but I'd buy that one [Hasbulla's]. Yeah, you know, UFC marketing team with Hasbulla, obviously with his massive following, his connection to Khabib, and then you know, the Nelk boys and stuff like that. Anything to get this younger generation. It's working, yeah, I get it. No hate there."
