Conor McGregor’s Black Forge Inn in Dublin records €1.13m in losses

The Black Forge Inn, owned by Conor McGregor, lost €1.136 million last year, according to reports. Newly filed financial records by Jemi Ventures Ltd indicate that the company lost €1.578m in the year ending last December, following losses of €441,649 in 2020.

In 2020, McGregor reportedly bought the business for €1.9 million. According to the Irish Independent, McGregor invested an additional €1 million to fix up the bar. This is on top of the costs he had already paid to buy the Inn, located in Dublin, Ireland.

The Irish Superstar-owned pub suffered losses because businesses in the hospitality sector declined after the Covid-19 pandemic. Further shedding light on the reports, a spokesperson for the Black Forge Inn said on Wednesday:

"The Black Forge Inn, like countless others, was impacted by the pandemic shut down and reduced hours. We knew we would be operating at a loss, but we continued to serve the community and immediately ramped up once we were allowed to open. With our notoriously generous owner, Conor McGregor, sparing no cost in bringing all the excellence Ireland has to offer to our amazing pub."

Conor McGregor has also set up a pop-up pub in Abu Dhabi for the Formula One Grand Prix as part of the expansion plans, according to the statement:

“The future is bright for the Black Forge Inn and the plans for the future are to expand our brand to be the most well-known iconic Irish pub in the world. An example of this was seen by our mega successful Black Forge Inn pop up in Abu Dhabi for the Formula One Grand Prix last weekend.”

Conor McGregor is open to being tested by USADA with a return to competition on the horizon

It's been exactly 502 days to this date since Conor McGregor stepped foot inside the octagon. The Irishman has been sidelined from action ever since he suffered a horrific leg injury in his trilogy bout against Dustin Poirier.

'The Notorious' was the only UFC fighter apart from the new fighters signed after Aug. 1, 2022, who is yet to be drug tested by USADA in 2022. UFC President Dana White confirmed at the UFC 280 press conference that Conor McGregor wasn't in the testing pool and will have to complete six months in the program before he returns to competition.

The former UFC two-division champion, however, remains confident of making a highly anticipated return. During a recent episode of his Twitter tirade, McGregor outlined a plan for him next year, claiming that he's eligible to be tested in February:

"I am clear for testing in February. I will complete my two tests per USADA and we are booking a fight."
