Devin Haney's most recent fight witnessed him take on Regis Prograis in Dec. 2023. Heading into that matchup, Prograis had levied a few serious accusations at Haney regarding his boxing record.

Haney, 25, has been involved in the sport of boxing for many years. The California-born pugilist primarily competed in Tijuana, Mexico, early in his professional boxing career because he was too young to secure a license to fight as a pro boxer in the US.

Before their title fight in Dec. 2023, Prograis put forth a series of tweets in Oct. 2023, in which he accused Haney of paying to have a loss expunged from his professional boxing record. As indicated in a report by talkSPORT, some of Haney's aforementioned early pro boxing matches transpired in hotels and bars in Tijuana, which makes it tough to confirm the veracity of Prograis' accusations.

In one tweet, Regis Prograis asserted that he's heard that Devin Haney suffered a loss in Mexico and paid to take that loss off his record. 'Rougarou' emphasized that if it's true, it's an extremely weak move on 'The Dream's' part.

Haney hit back by with a tweet of his own, lambasting Prograis and highlighting that fellow boxer Rolly Romero was spreading the supposed misinformation.

Haney's tweet read as follows:

"Only a dumba** would believe some sh** like that.. this info is coming from Rolly that should tell u enough"

Prograis followed up by tweeting that he'd received confirmation that the information relayed to him was true. Furthermore, 'Rougarou' posted another tweet, clarifying that he didn't talk to Romero. Additionally, he directed profanity at both Haney and Romero.

The veteran boxer then referred to 'The Dream' as a "fraud" and claimed that more people know about the alleged hidden defeat than he thinks. He further pointed out that Haney's professional boxing record, officially listed as 30-0 (15 KOs) leading up to their fight, was actually 29-1 (15 KOs).

Regardless, when they did end up clashing inside the squared circle in December, Haney defeated Prograis via unanimous decision. 'The Dream' thereby dethroned him to become the new WBC super lightweight (junior welterweight) champion.
