Reigning and undisputed ONE featherweight Muay Thai world champion Tawanchai PK Saenchai of Thailand is throwing his full support behind ONE women's strawweight Muay Thai world champion 'The Hurricane' Smilla Sundell when the latter steps in the ring to defend her gold once again.

Sundell is set to face Russian star 'Karelian Lynx' Natalia Diachkova in the main event of ONE Fight Night 22: Sundell vs. Diachkova on Prime Video.

The event broadcasts live from the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Speaking to Sportskeeda MMA in an exclusive interview, Tawanchai shared his thoughts on Sundell, and why she will likely retain her world title.

The PK Saenchai Muay Thai Gym representative said:

"Although Natalia [Diachkova] is a strong fighter, I still believe in Smilla's skills. She's disciplined, and very strong. I think she can secure this victory."

Tawanchai has spent some time training and working out with Sundell at Fairtex Training Center in Pattaya, and the two have become close friends.

Sundell says she has learned a lot from the featherweight Muay Thai king, new techniques that will help her in battle against Diachkova next weekend.

The two square off in the co-main event of ONE 167: Stamp vs. Zamboanga on Prime Video, which broadcasts live from the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.
