Thai standout Sinsamut Klinmee has fought for a ONE world title on two separate occasions — and Dmitry Menshikov couldn't possibly care less.

On Friday, May 3, Menshikov will return to the legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium looking to score his third straight victory under the ONE banner. Standing in his way of that task will be Sinsamut Klinmee, a combat sports veteran with more than 100 fights to his credit and experience competing for ONE Championship's greatest prize — something the Russian standout is by no means impressed by.

"The fact that Sinsamut fought twice for the belt doesn't matter to me," Menshikov told ONE Championship. "I don't consider it to be a remarkable fact."

Sinsamut went toe-to-toe with former two-sport king Regian Eersel in back-to-back bouts between October 2022 and May 2023. 'Aquaman' came up short in both outings, but he has since bounced back with wins over Victor Teixeira and Mouhcine Chafi.

If he can bag one more big win, he may very well set himself up for another shot at 26 pounds of gold. Of course, that'll be easier said than done against a devastating knockout artist gunning for his own rematch with the reigning ONE lightweight Muay Thai world champion.

Dmitry Menshikov and Sinsamut Klinmee go into ONE Fight Night 22 on two-fight win streaks

Dmitry Menshikov made his ONE Championship debut against Regian Eersel at ONE Fight Night 11 on Prime Video in June 202. It only took Eersel 46 seconds to bring Menshikov's highly anticipated debut to an unfortunate end.

Since then, the Russian has been hellbent on getting back into title contention. He returned three months later and scored an impressive first-round knockout against Rungrawee Sitsonpeenong followed by his own highlight-reel finish against the aforementioned Mouhcine Chafi.

Who leaves the Mecca of Muay Thai with a third straight win and one step closer to another crack at the coveted ONE lightweight Muay Thai world championship?

ONE Championship fans in the United States can watch ONE Fight Night 22 live and for free via Amazon Prime Video in U.S. primetime on Friday, May 3.
