Japanese kickboxing icon Takeru Segawa could just be weeks away from making his ONE Championship debut.

The three-division K1 Kickboxing world champion recently teased what could be his promotional debut when he shared behind-the-scenes shots of his photoshoot.

Takeru, the only three-division world champion in K1 history, posted photos of him wearing ONE Championship’s gloves in what should be his first official photo session with the promotion.

He posted on Instagram:

"ONE Championship shooting📸🔥@onechampionship.”

It’s undeniable that Takeru is one of the greatest martial artists Japan has ever produced, and his arrival at ONE Championship immediately created a slew of potential dream matches for the Japanese megastar.

One of the names Takeru has been heavily linked with is ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon.

The Thai superstar has been going at it with Takeru on social media, and both have expressed a desire to face each other inside the Circle.

Other names that could welcome Takeru into the promotion are ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion Superlek Kiatmoo9 or ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion Jonathan Haggerty.

Takeru signed with ONE Championship in 2023 and was arguably the promotion’s biggest signing of the calendar year.

With Muay Thai and kickboxing firmly entrenched in the organization’s ethos, Takeru’s arrival into the promotion was seen as a no-brainer.

Takeru has since acclimated with the promotion's top stars and even trained with former ONE featherweight kickboxing world champion Superbon Singha Mawynn and former ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion Nong-O Hama.

Although there are no official announcements yet, Takeru could make his ONE Championship debut in the promotion’s impending card in Qatar.
