Jon Jones has been inactive for nearly three years, prompting Jan Blachowicz to proclaim that he doesn't believe Jones will return to the UFC. Former middleweight champion Michael Bisping discussed the No.2-ranked light heavyweight's comments.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Bisping stated:

"I think when you compare those last three fights, the decisions, granted against very good fighters, always number one contenders, that is why Jan Blachowicz is saying that. He's saying 'listen, we're closing that gap'... You could say that about Ronda Rousey. When she was the champion, she was destroying everyone, and the sport kind of caught her up."

Bisping added:

"Is that a fair comparison to make about Jon Jones? I don't know if it is... He hasn't fought for a while, he's coming up to heavyweight. Is that because he wants to go up to heavyweight to do something new, or, as Blachowicz says, he's running away from the division?... I think he's done what he can possibly do at light heavyweight... He is potentially the greatest fighter that the sport has ever seen."

Despite Blachowicz's claims, it is hard to say that the division caught up to Jones, as he was never beaten. Furthermore, Jones has been angling for his heavyweight debut for quite some time, making it hard to validate Blachowicz's assessment that he won't return to the UFC.

Michael Bisping wants to see Jon Jones return

Jon Jones is widely regarded as one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time. After dominating the light heavyweight division, Jones took a hiatus from the sport due to a contract dispute. While he has been angling for a heavyweight return, he is yet to receive a fight. Michael Bisping recently shared his desire to see Jones back in the octagon.

During a recent Q&A on his YouTube channel, the former middleweight champion stated:

"I think Jon Jones needs to fight, that's what I think. I think he's one of the very best, if not the best, that this sport's ever seen. One of the most naturally talented fighters... Jones is amazing, I just wanna see him come back. I wanna see him come back and fight for the belt or fight Stipe, or just fight somebody."

Jones is targeting a UFC 282 return, which now appears unlikely, as the card has already been announced. With heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou still recovering from an injury, Jones is looking to face former champion Stipe Miocic. It remains unclear, however, when Jones will make his long-awaited return to the octagon.
