Michael Chandler opened up about his experience coaching on The Ultimate Fighter so far and what the interactions between himself and Conor McGregor have been like since they began filming the show.

While speaking to the media during UFC 285, Chandler was asked what McGregor has been like, especially considering they are now competing as coaches. He mentioned that each day has been different and joked that the former two-division UFC champion has showcased different personalities.

He said:

"When I see a guy in Conor who is so good at looking at the Venn diagram of good guy, bad guy, and guy in between who doesn't quite know when he's going to be crazy mean, crazy witty, crazy nice, crazy respecful, only crazy respectful just to set you up and lower your guard just so he can spit you with some venom the next day." The former three-time Bellator lightweight champion added that McGregor is unpredictable in terms of how he's going to act and react to certain exchanges. He mentioned that he wasn't expecting to enjoy the experience on TUF like he has, saying:

"Conor on Monday is different than Conor on Tuesday, who's different than Conor on Wednesday, and I freaking love it. I absolutely love it. I came in with my arms open, my hands open saying, 'I have no idea what to expect here.' I'm just trying to be authentically myself and let the chips fall where they may because you never quite know what's gonna happen." [7:26 - 7:45]

It will be interesting to see what else is in store for Chandler and McGregor on TUF as they continue to build their fight for later this year.

Michael Chandler says a trilogy fight against Eddie Alvarez is unlikely to happen

Michael Chandler and Eddie Alvarez's first fight was arguably one of the greatest fights in Bellator history. They each split wins with each other as Alvarez won the rematch, but their highly anticipated trilogy never materialized.

While speaking with the media at UFC 285, Chandler addressed the comments made by 'The Underground King' regarding the trilogy during his appearance on The MMA Hour. He mentioned that there was talk of them doing the fight, but there wasn't any real offer and he decided to re-sign with Bellator instead.

He said:

"There was a moment there where we talked about, 'Hey, we could take matters into our own hands. I could bounce out, you could bounce out. Let's fight each other, do a trilogy.' That was the only time that there was any kind of contract talks happening. As fate would happen, I re-signed with Bellator, fought off my contract, and now everything has worked out perfectly."
