Misfits Boxing, the influencer boxing promotion founded by KSI and Kalle & Nisse Sauerland, has come under fire from the Professional Boxing Association (PBA). It's promoter licenses have been suspended due to repeated rule violations, concerns surrounding boxer safety, and perceived damage to the sport's reputation.

The PBA's official statement emphasized the gravity of the situation, citing:

"Misfits Boxing: Due to the clear violations of the PBA’s rules and regulations, bringing boxing into disrepute and in the interest of boxer safety, Misfits Boxing Promoters’ licences have been suspended and disciplinary hearings will follow for such licence holders."

This action comes after a string of controversies plaguing Misfits' events. Most recently, KSI's October 2023 fight against Tommy Fury, which ended in a disputed victory for Fury, was marred by scoring errors.

Another concerning moment occurred on the undercard, where Dillon Danis' debut against Logan Paul descended into chaos. In the final round, 'El Jefe' attempted an illegal jiu-jitsu choke, prompting security to intervene and a brawl to erupt. Paul was awarded the win by disqualification, with Danis appealing the decision to the PBA.

In June 2023, the PBA overturned KSI's knockout win over Joe Fournier due to an illegal strike, further highlighting concerns about proper conduct and adherence to regulations within Misfits' events:

"Even though KSI was winning the fight, the blow with the forearm/elbow has been found to be accidental and the obvious disappointment that will follow, it has been decided that the contest is declared a No Contest in accordance with the rules... We have ensured that this process was conducted swiftly and fairly to uphold the integrity of boxing."

Misfits is currently scheduled to host a fight night in Leeds on Jan 20, with TikTok star Ed Matthews headlining. However, the association's suspension casts a cloud of uncertainty over the event's future. It remains unclear whether the promotion can proceed without its licenses or if they will face further ramifications for alleged rule violations.
