Robert Whittaker has weighed in on Jiri Prochazka as a potential opponent.

Whittaker recently sat down for a chat with Submission Radio. During the interview, the former middleweight champion spoke about possibly moving up to light heavyweight.

He then spoke about Jiri Prochazka giving up his belt due to injury and said that his actions proved how mentally strong 'Denisa' is and that made him a "scary" opponent:

"Jiri, he's a monster. Like, he's so big, not to mention, he's crazy. Like, he's absolutely nuts... He has nothing limiting what he wants to do. There are no inner thoughts. There's nothing you can bribe him with. There's nothing you can lure him with. There is nothing going on in his head except what he wants there to be, which is crazy. He's immune to everything... and he's willing to get in that octagon and literally die there. You can see that in him when you see him fight and that's a scary prospect."

Jiri Prochazka was scheduled to fight Glover Teixeira in a rematch at UFC 282. Unfortunately, the 30-year-old suffered a shoulder injury and then decided to vacate the belt in an attempt to not hold up the division.

What's next for Robert Whittaker?

Robert Whittaker is scheduled to face Paulo Costa at UFC 284. The event will take place on February 12 in Perth, Australia.

One issue surrounding the contest is that although the UFC has officially announced the bout, Costa claims that he has not yet received a fight contract for the same:

"I want to do this fight, but I don’t have a deal. UFC didn’t send me nothing. No contract, no offer yet. It’s a weird situation. I don’t know what’s going on with the UFC. Because you guys know, the UFC used to publish some fights when the fight is close, when the deal is on. But it’s not in this case. They asked me about Robert, if I should fight him. I said, ‘Yes, of course, it’ll be a pleasure to fight him.' But they didn’t send any offer to fight him yet.”

Robert Whittaker has said that he intends to fight on the Perth card, regardless of whether his opponent is Costa or someone else.
