Ryan Garcia has taken issue with Errol Spence Jr. over recent weeks due to the former welterweight champion's current legal battle with Garcia's coach, Derrick James.

Until recently, James was the longtime trainer of Spence Jr., with the pair having worked together since 'The Truth' was an amateur. However, according to reports, a portion of money owed to the boxing trainer for his services in their clash with Terence Crawford had not been paid.

Ahead of his fight with Devin Haney, 'KingRy' took aim at Spence Jr. by accusing him of being "high" during his defeat to Crawford. The 25-year-old then mentioned 'The Truth' following his win over Haney, taking to X to post the following:

"Errol Spence can't be me."

Spence Jr. announced that he would be moving to super welterweight following his defeat to 'Bud' in 2023. He has his eyes on a title fight with Sebastian Fundora, who was also recently called out by Garcia.

With 'KingRy' indicating his keenness on a clash at 154 pounds, a fight between himself and 'The Truth' could potentially be scheduled.

Ryan Garcia reverses his stance on a Devin Haney rematch

Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney went to war in a much-anticipated clash on April 20th.

The fight was initially scheduled as a WBC super lightweight title fight, with Haney hoping to defend his newly acquired belt. But 'KingRy' missed the 140-pound weight limit by over three pounds, leading to the fight being rescheduled as a non-title bout.

Given Garcia's odd pre-fight behavior, many felt that he had little chance against 'The Dream', who had yet to taste defeat in the ring as a professional. But 'KingRy' dominated the fight from the outset, hurting the WBC champion within the first round, a trend which continued throughout the clash.

Garcia won the fight via a majority decision, a result that almost no one saw coming. The pair were heard agreeing to organize a rematch in the ring after the fight, but the 25-year-old appears to have changed his mind.

He recently appeared on the Patrick Bet-David podcast, where he said this:

"There ain't no rematch, this dude got clowned out. I barely tried. I was drinking everyday. On Monday I was at Tao nightclub, Tuesday I was at Little Sister. Wednesday I went out, Thursday I went out, Friday I was drinking, I was doing whatever I want."
