Conor McGregor compares his devastated octagon picture after Khabib Nurmagomedov loss with 'a lion chillin'

Conor McGregor recently referred to himself as the "Lion King" in an attempt to reverse the narrative of his brutal octagon picture after losing to Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229.

McGregor recently went on a Twitter tirade and in one of his tweets, the Irishman posted a picture of himself against the cage, with Nurmagomedov being held back by referee Herb Dean. The tweet stated:

"The Lion King chills. Unscathed. They’ll do nothin. Wait an I get up I’m gonna and batter the whole family. On top of the cage, the lot. That’s a f****n lion chillin' right there. And a rat knawing."

The biggest pay-per-view fight in UFC history also witnessed an ugly brawl that broke out between the two teams. After submitting McGregor in the fourth round, 'The Eagle' jumped out of the cage to attack the Irish superstar's teammate Dillon Danis, resulting in both their entourages engaging in a scuffle.

Recently, 'The Notorious' also made his hatred for Nurmagomedov known in a now-deleted tweet, seemingly upset over some comments the Dagestan native made at an event in Toronto. Nurmagomedov referenced McGregor's famous line while stating his own team's success during the interview.

It's safe to say that the rivalry between the two superstars, arguably the biggest in UFC history, still lives on and it seems unlikely that the two will bury the hatchet anytime soon.

Conor McGregor calls Khabib Nurmagomedov an "absolute bottler" in a recent tweet

Conor McGregor claimed on Twitter that he is no longer interested in pursuing a rematch against Khabib Nurmagomedov and stated that there will be "way better fights" waiting for him on his return.

McGregor posted a series of tweets with the apparent intention of changing the narrative of the infamous brawl that took place after his loss to the former lightweight champion at UFC 229 in 2018.

In one of the tweets, the Irishman stated:

"Actually, you know what I don’t want to fight the smellbag, there are way better fights out there but let it be known that the biggest wet the bed in fighting history is what this guy is. Think of the magnitude this fight wound have. Absolute bottler you are. Father gonna slap you 100%."

With the biggest superstar to grace the UFC octagon seeming intent on making a comeback to the sport, it is no surprise that he will have a number of opponents eager to face him. Most recently, Michael Chandler has expressed his desire to face Conor McGregor in the octagon.
