Renato Moicano passed Conor McGregor in the lightweight rankings after pulling off an impressive first-round submission victory over Brad Riddell at UFC 281. The No.13-ranked lightweight shared his thoughts on passing the biggest star in mixed martial arts.

During a recent appearance on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, Moicano stated:

"F**k McGregor bro. He's done bro. Now, it's my time. McGregor, he did a lot for this sport, but right now, he's done, that's the truth, but if he wants to get the smoke, he's gonna be in trouble because I will beat him. I will beat his a** bro. You can be sure of that."

Helwani went on to ask Moicano who his dream opponent would be. The No.13-ranked lightweight stated:

"F**king McGregor, of course. I want to fight him bro, but I don't think he's going to accept to fight me... If they give me a fight, it would be McGregor or Islam Makhachev, of course, because I want to be champion and I want to be a billionaire, I want to be a millionaire, I want to make money... Moicano wants the money, McGregor has the money, so why not do that fight?"

Moicano did note that a fight with McGregor is unlikely as the former champ appears destined to move up. A title fight against Islam Makhachev is equally unlikely, as the lightweight champion is scheduled to fight Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 284.

Conor McGregor called out by Paolo Costa on Twitter

Conor McGregor has been inactive since breaking his leg at UFC 264. Paulo Costa recently revealed that he has called McGregor out for a fight three times.

In a tweet, the No.6-ranked middleweight stated:

"Just to let you all know I called Conor mcgregor out to fight 3 times and ufc agreed but he said he was sick for the first and now he said he will be out to enjoy the Christmas with family. I wanted but if was only my fault. Proper Whiskey va Secret juice is going down"

McGregor is yet to acknowledge Costa's claims. While the No.14-ranked lightweight has teased a move up in weight, it is unlikely that he will make the jump all the way up to middleweight. The former double champ will need to re-enter the USADA testing pool for six months before he returns to the octagon.
