Where does Kamaru Usman stand on P4P list after UFC 286? Here's the latest rankings update

The UFC has updated its official fighter rankings after last weekend's UFC 286 pay-per-view at the O2 Arena in London.

The most notable shift in the men's pound-for-pound rankings came with Kamaru Usman sliding down three spots to the No.8 ranking after his decision loss to welterweight champion Leon Edwards this past Saturday.

'The Nigerian Nightmare' was notably the No.1 pound-for-pound fighter in the world going into his rematch with Edwards at UFC 278 last year, which he lost via knockout. After losing the recent trilogy bout, Usman gave way to Israel Adesanya, Alex Pereira and Aljamain Sterling in the pound-for-pound rankings.

In the middleweight division, Marvin Vettori moved up to the No.3 spot following his decision win over Roman Dolidze at UFC 286. Vettori has already lost to the two fighters above him, Israel Adesanya and Robert Whittaker, so will likely need another big win to put himself in title contention

Ranked contenders Justin Gaethje, Jennifer Maia and Muhammad Mokaev successfully defended their spots with their wins at UFC 286.

Elsewhere in the UFC rankings, Chris Daukaus dropped down a spot to No.13 in the heavyweight rankings, with Jailton Almeida going up to the No.12 spot. Bantamweight veteran Pedro Munhoz traded places with Ricky Simon, going up to No.9.

Colby Covington slams Leon Edwards' frequent fouls against Kamaru Usman at UFC 286

Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman went toe-to-toe at UFC 286 in a trilogy bout that had no shortage of controversy.

Over the course of five rounds, Edwards landed two low-blows, held Usman's glove in a grappling exchange and grabbed the fence to avoid being taken down. A blatant fence-grab even forced referee Herb Dean to take a point away from the Englishman in the third round.

In a recent interview with James Lynch, Colby Covington weighed in on Edwards' repeated offenses and slammed the welterweight champion:

""He's [Leon Edwards] out there poking the guy in the eye, kicking him [Kamaru Usman] in the n*ts, grabbing the fence and then Herb Dean stops the action... Then tries to deny it in front of the world James, he's trying to deny it. Dude, the whole world just saw you completely blatantly grab the fence and now you're gonna deny it?"
