Bangalore, Nov 5 (IANS) One of India’s top navigators B.S. Sujith Kumar brought the curtain down on his 24-year rallying career, but will be involved in motorsport in an administrative capacity.

Announcing his retirement here Tuesday, the 42-year-old, who started his career as a two-wheeler navigator and has had his share of crashes, broken bones and steel plates in his body, cited personal commitments as the reason.

“Rallying is a huge part of my life and I can’t just walk away completely. So, though I have finally decided to step aside from participation in the Indian National Rallying Championship (INRC), I would like to get into administration and do my best to promote this sport,” said Sujith Kumar, who has partnered champions drivers like Gaurav Gill, Vikram Mathias and Lohitt Urs.

“Because of my personal commitments I will not be in a position to participate in INRC anymore,” added Sujith Kumar, who is also a qualified Steward of the Federation of Motorsports Clubs of India for two-wheeler racing.
