Kagero Village in Naruto

Due to lack of information, not much is known about the founding or history of the village. Based on the limited information that is available, Kagero Village, also known as Heat Devil Village, was a small village located in the Land of Mountains. It is stated that at some point, about 30 years before the start of the series, Kagero Village was at war with Konoha, also known as the Village Hidden in the Leaves.

After a prolonged battle, Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Third Hokage launched a surprise attack on the Kagero Village with the aid of Jiraiya, the Legendary Sannin, and a few other Konoha shinobi. This development led to the declaration of a cease-fire and there was a temporary halt. However, this did not last for long as some shinobi from Tanigakure, also known as the Village Hidden in Valleys, took this opportunity and launched an attack of their own on Kagero Village.

The village was wiped out by these shinobi hailing from Tanigakure. Genno, a shinobi from Kagero Village, was the only known survivor of this incident as at the time of the attack, Genno was in Konoha setting a trap rigged with explosive tags.
