Tom Brady is best known for winning Super Bowls. With seven rings under his belt, not many are talking about the quarterback's lost championships. However, according to the quarterback, the dark twists of fate pushed No. 12 to tears. Speaking on the "Late Show with Stephen Colbert," he appeared to let slip that he cried himself to sleep on the night of a Super Bowl loss.

Here's how he put it when speaking about the loss against Nick Foles and the Philadelphia Eagles:

“I was pretty disappointed, it was a tough loss, but I've been a part of those winning teams and I think when you lose, you just got to understand that comes with it. It's a competitive sport. No one knows the outcome. It ended up being a great game.”

Will Tom Brady play football in 2023?

He continued, lumping crying and sleeping into the same thought:

“Cry mostly, you can't win them all. Actually, when you wake up the next morning. [I was like], 'Was that a nightmare? No, please, we could play this game again.'”

No. 12 has won seven Super Bowls. However, how many times has he supposedly cried on the night of a Super Bowl loss? As it stands, the quarterback has lost three Super Bowls, but only to two quarterbacks. The first loss came in 2007 to the New York Giants.

The Giants were not the most red-hot team in the league, finishing with a 10-6 record, but they caught fire at the right time. In a defensive game, Eli Manning defeated Brady 17-14.

In 2011, the Giants faced the quarterback once again in the big game. Much like the first Super Bowl matchup, Eli Manning's team wasn't riding as hot as most Lombardi contestants. However, the 9-7 unit once again beat Brady in a defensive battle, winning 21-17.

The other loss was against quarterback Nick Foles in arguably one of the most well-known underdog stories in modern sports. The Eagles were flying high with potential MVP winner Carson Wentz, but after the team lost him to a season-ending injury, the backup quarterback stepped in.

Almost everyone wrote off the team, but they got through the NFC playoffs and faced the most accomplished quarterback in NFL history. Many expected the Eagles to minimize Foles, but instead, both quarterbacks went toe-to-toe in a massive shootout. Brady went home as the loser and Foles hoisted the Lombardi Trophy in a 41-33 Eagles win.

Will the Eagles find a way to upset another championship veteran in Patrick Mahomes?
