On Sunday, Derrick Henry and the Tennessee Titans ran all over the Houston Texans en route to a 17-10 win in Malik Willis' first career start. The Titans ran for over 300 yards as a team, with 219 of them coming from Henry alone.
Henry's 200+ yards and two touchdowns set a few new records. He now has four games of 200 yards and two touchdowns against the Texans, which is more than anyone else in history regardless of opponent. In total, the Titans running back has six such games against anyone, which is also the most in history.
The records didn't stop there, though. The running back recorded his fourth straight game against the Texans with at least 200 yards rushing. No other player has done that against a team more than twice. The two touchdowns he scored were also enough to pass Eddie George and set the Titans franchise record.
The Titans as a whole also became the first team since the 2000 Cincinnati Bengals to rush for over 300 yards and pass for under 40. The Texans entered with the last-ranked run defense in the NFL and the Titans poured it on.
Derrick Henry's many NFL records
These are not the only records that the Titans star holds, though. Even before Sunday's contest, he held several impressive records. He was the first player to record 200 yards or more and two touchdowns on fewer than 22 carries. He has the longest rush in history with a 99 yard touchdown run. This record is shared by many but naturally cannot be broken.
Henry was the first NFL player with 180 or more rushing yards in three consecutive games. In his first four playoff games, he ran for 561 yards. That's more than anyone in history through that number of games.
The running back owns multiple franchise records, too. His 250 yards in a single game is the most any Titan has ever recorded. 408 rushing yards between two consecutive games is also more than anyone else has recorded. He owns the single-game postseason rushing yards record, too, with 195.
The former Alabama product is one of the very few players to record a 2,000-yard rushing season. His 2,027 yards is a single-season franchise record.
