Does Travis Kelce hate the Eagles?

Travis Kelce's brother Jason plays for the Philadelphia Eagles and has done so since he was drafted in 2011. When Travis was in the 2013 draft, he hoped to play with his brother in the big leagues as he did in college.

The Eagles didn't afford him that chance, and he admitted to his brother on their podcast that it upset him:

"But I screwed up a few years of my life not being able to play on the field with you. And I always hated Philadelphia for not giving me that opportunity. Knowing that I had f****d it up so many times. I just wanted that one chance to, you know, team up with my dog the way I thought it was supposed to be."

The Eagles took Zach Ertz in the second round and the Kansas City Chiefs nabbed Kelce at the beginning of the third round. It's no secret that Kelce has turned out to be better than Ertz, but Kelce understands and respects the pick:

"And I got so much respect for the Eagles organization and things happen for a reason, man... I don't think the story would have been the same... So in a sense, I don't hate the Eagles as much as I used to. I have some appreciation for Roseman and Larry taking Zach Ertz."

He admitted that he has certainly mellowed out on his frustration towards the Eagles.

It probably doesn't hurt that he's now a two-time Super Bowl champion and gets to play with Patrick Mahomes with the Chiefs.

When should Travis Kelce have been drafted?

Looking back at the 2013 NFL draft, every single team made a mistake in passing up on Travis Kelce. He is one of the best tight ends of all time, and many teams had two chances to draft him.

Tight ends hardly ever go first overall, but there isn't a player in the first round that is better than Travis Kelce from his draft class. In reality, he should have gone in the top 10 at least.

That means he could have been picked by Kansas City, Jacksonville, Miami, Philadelphia, Detroit, Cleveland, Arizona, St. Louis, New York (Jets), or Tennessee.
