Lil Wayne is not alone among Green Pay Packers fans in wondering whether Aaron Rodgers is still the right man for the job. This follows yet another disastrous outing today when the Packers lost to the Detroit Lions.

The Lions were 1-6 coming into this game and are historically one of the poorest franchises in the league. Yet, in the NFC North divisional game, the Packers came unstuck and it was mainly due to their woeful offense.

They lost the game by scoring only nine points, losing a match where their defense limited the opposition to just 15 points. The Green Bay Packers fall to 3-6 after Week 9, which means that they now have the same number of losses as the Lions who prop up the basement of the division.

Lil Wayne joined in by saying that they should have moved on from Aaron Rodgers before the beginning of the season.

"RIP to the season we should've gotten rid of 12 before the season."

This might come to be seen as a prophetic statement. The Packers have Jordan Love sitting in the wings for the last two years, waiting to take over from Aaron Rodgers.

Giving him the chance this season would have allowed him to bed in and given the Green Bay faithful the chance for a new era. Aaron Rodgers was also poor in the postseason as they blew their chance to beat the San Francisco 49ers in the playoffs.

However, where that judgment by the rapper might be questioned is when Rodgers led the Green Bay Packers to the overall first seed in the NFC last season. He was also the MVP for two years running prior to this one.

Hence, any change in the quarterback position would have looked ill-advised. It is always easy to judge in hindsight and it is now up to Aaron Rodgers to improve his performances to prove Lil Wayne wrong.

How did Lil Wayne become a Packers and Aaron Rodgers fan?

The assessment coming from Lil Wayne is particularly damning for Rodgers because the lifelong Packers fan has put him above Brett Favre in the pantheon of Packers quarterbacks. So, for him to tell the team to move on gives a window into how much the Green Bay fans are suffering this season.

The singer became a fan of the Packers after his dad took him to Super Bowl XXXI in his hometown of New Orleans in 1997. When Brett Favre won Green Bay the Lombardi Trophy, they picked up a fan in Lil Wayne as well, in what would become a lifelong association for him.
